Get ready for an exciting and meaningful day at the Midway Shelter Winter Run/Walk on Saturday, December 6th, 2025, at the picturesque Harbor Bay Ferry Terminal in Alameda. This vibrant event features a choice of distances, including a scenic 5K (3.1 miles) and a challenging 10K (6.2 miles), both taking participants along the stunning shoreline of Bay Farm Island with breathtaking views of San Francisco and the Alameda Main Island. Families are invited to join in the fun with a special Kids Run, a 1/2 mile course for children aged 11 and under, kicking off at 9:45 AM.
With a flat out-and-back course on asphalt trails and Harbor Bay Parkway, it's perfect for runners and walkers of all levels. There will be plenty of parking available, and after the race, participants can enjoy delicious snacks and refreshing drinks, including local craft beer from Faction Brewery. Not only will you have a fantastic time, but you'll also be supporting a great cause—Midway Shelter, which provides essential emergency shelter for homeless women and children. Organiser's Description
Join us for another year of the Midway Shelter Winter run and walk. This event takes place this year at the Harbor Bay Ferry Terminal in Alameda on Bay Farm Island and supports a great cause. The run will take you along the beautiful shoreline of Bay Farm Island and is a flat out and back with views of San Francisco and the Alameda Main Island.
There is a 5k (3.1 mile) and a longer 10K (6.2 mile) option. Portions of the course will be on Harbor Bay Parkway and the remainder on the asphalt trails.
The Kids run will be a 1/2 mile course open to children 11 and under and will start at 9:45am. Look for the kids run category at registration.
There is plenty of parking at the Ferry terminal and we will have snacks and drinks when the race is over as well as beer from Faction brewery.
EVENT TIMELINE:

8:30am ~ 10K race starts
* 8:45am ~ 5k race starts
