The event supports ND Strong & The Film Dudes.
ND Strong is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that believes in supporting the media education of students from all types of communities. As ND Strong has expanded over time into programs like The Film Dudes, it's become evident how our programs impact students; testimonies from parents and teachers regarding more student engagement and more expressive behavior in the classroom. Being established for 7 years, our programs have reached a higher capacity at 9 schools across North Dakota. Since the integrity of the original Film Dudes mission intends for artists Eric Thoemke and Matthew Maldonado to be the ones physically in the schools, we have limited staff to fulfill more roles in the schools. This creates a need for more resources since there are more areas needing to be served. The program helps fulfill this need while also reaching those rural communities suffering under limited funding sources.
The Film Dudes is intended to provide first-hand film production experience for students. Our program establishes a foothold in all aspects of the filmmaking process; pre-production, production, and post-production. This process includes story development, cinematography, editing, and more. Along with these elements are lessons on the various technologies used in the industry; camera operation, equipment showcases, editing techniques, etc.
