This exciting event features a variety of race distances to suit every runner, including a 1-mile Fun Run starting at 7:30 AM, a Half Marathon at 8:00 AM, and a 5K at 8:15 AM. The Mistletoe Run is not only a great way to stay active, but it also serves as the YMCA's largest annual fundraiser, supporting vital programs for youth in the community.
Participants can look forward to a festive atmosphere filled with live music, delicious food trucks, local vendors, and even community mascots to cheer them on. The USATF sanctioned course begins and ends at the William G White Jr Family YMCA and winds through the picturesque Buena Vista neighborhood and the stunning grounds of Graylyn International Conference Center, Reynolda House and Gardens, and Wake Forest University. Every participant will receive a race shirt, and those completing the 5K and Half Marathon will earn a Finisher Medal, while Fun Run participants will take home a Finisher ribbon. Kick off the holiday season with our YMCA's largest annual fundraiser, The Mistletoe Run! The Mistletoe Run is a family friendly and community centered event. In addition to our Half Marathon, 5K and 1 mile Fun Run courses, we also have live music, food trucks, vendors, community mascots, local cheerleaders, athletes, donuts at the Finish Line and more. Every participant receives a race shirt, our 5K and Half Marathoners will receive a Finisher Medal, and our Fun Run participants will receive a Finisher ribbon at the end of their race.
OUR COURSE
The Mistletoe Run is a USATF sanctioned course and begins and ends at the William G White Jr Family YMCA [https://ymcanwnc.org/locations/william-g-white-jr-family-ymca] in downtown Winston-Salem, NC. Our 5K runners travel through Winston-Salems beautiful Buena Vista neighborhood, while the half marathon course will continue through the Graylyn International Conference Center, Reynolda House and Gardens, through Reynolda Village, onto Wake Forest Universitys campus, then circle back around to the Y.
OUR CAUSE
At the YMCA, we believe every child deserves a healthy & active life. We are proud to share that all race proceeds benefit the young people in our community by providing funding for YMCA swim lessons, summer camp, youth sports, before & after school care, teen memberships & more. Our programs build self-confidence, friendships & community while also teaching our young people how to live healthier lives.
