Get ready for a day of fun and community spirit at the MoCo CARES Charity Race on Saturday, October 4th, 2025, in Gaithersburg, Montgomery! This exciting event marks the 3rd annual edition of a race that has evolved from a small community gathering into a vibrant county-wide celebration of support and goodwill. Participants can choose from a timed 10k starting at 8:30 am, a timed 5k at 8:45 am, or join the 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk at 9:00 am. There’s even a Kids Trike-A-Thon at 9:30 am, ensuring that families can join in on the fun together!
This year, the event aims to raise $100,000 to benefit local organizations, including SO WHAT ELSE and Covenant Life School, both dedicated to improving the lives of children in the DMV area. Not only will your participation help support these important causes, but you also have the chance to win cash prizes for the top three male and female finishers, as well as gift cards for winners in various age categories. After the races, participants can join a meaningful service project, packing non-perishable food boxes for Thanksgiving. Come out

Organiser's Description
Thank you for registering for our 3rd annual charity race! We are excited to host this event and to interact with local community members and businesses. This race has grown from being a small community event (previously called LaunchCARES Charity Race) to a county-wide effort of uniting Companies Who CARE. We are thrilled to announce the charity recipients of the 2024 race - - - SO WHAT ELSE and COVENANT LIFE SCHOOL (our location host)! Both of these organizations work diligently to improve the lives of children in and around the DMV. Let's show them our support. Your participation/donation is tax deductible.
After the races are over we will work together on a service project to pack non-perishable food boxes for Thanksgiving. SO WHAT ELSE distributes thousands of meals for Thanksgiving. We will jumpstart their efforts this year by packing the non-perishables into boxes. Students participating in this will receive SSL hours for their time of service.
IT IS OUR GOAL IS TO RAISE $100,000 WITH THIS EVENT IN 2024.
