Get ready for an unforgettable experience at the 2025 Mogadishu Mile in Georgetown, Kentucky, taking place on Saturday, October 4th! This exciting event will be held at the scenic White Sulphur Baptist Church, located at 5300 Ironworks Road. Teams of four will come together to tackle a unique challenge that pays homage to the courage of US Army Rangers during the Battle of Mogadishu.
Participants will navigate an obstacle course of less than half a mile, featuring five demanding exercises including tire flips, box jumps, smash balls, burpees, and push-ups, all while carrying ammo cans. After completing the exercises, teams will grab a 35 lb ruck and finish with a mile run, emphasizing teamwork and camaraderie as no one is left behind. Awards will be given to the top three teams in various divisions, including Adult Elite, Adult Novice, College ROTC, and High School categories. Join us for a day of resilience, competition, and community spirit as we honor the bravery of those who serve!

Organiser's Description
Get ready for the 2025 Mogadishu Mile Kentucky! This year's event will be held on the beautiful property of White Sulphur Baptist Church located at 5300 Ironworks Road (on the corner of Iron Works Road and Frankfort Road) in Georgetown, Kentucky.
The event will start with four person teams each required to carry 4 ammo cans with them through the obstacle portion of the event. This portion, which is less than .5 mile, will have 5 events with each team performing 100 reps total of each exercise. The reps can be divided up amongst the team as they see fit. The event exercise's are: tire flip, box jumps, smash ball, burpees, push ups. After the last exercise, the teams will drop the ammo cans and grab a 35 lb. ruck to finish out a 1 mile run. Upon completion of the last team member, the time stops.
Awards will be given for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in each division (Adult Elite; Adult Novice; College ROTC; High School Co-Ed; High School All-Female)
Each team will consist of 4 members who MUST:

This event became a symbol of courage and resilience, particularly within the Special Operations community.

THE MILE-LONG DISTANCE COVERED BY THE SOLDIERS WAS BETWEEN THE CRASH SITE OF A BLACK HAWK HELICOPTER AND A RALLY POINT ON NATIONAL STREET, WHERE A CONVOY AWAITED.
CHALLENGES:
THE JOURNEY WAS FRAUGHT WITH DANGER, AS THE SOLDIERS WERE UNDER CONSTANT ENEMY FIRE, INCLUDING SMALL ARMS FIRE AND RPG ATTACKS.
SIGNIFICANCE:
THE MOGADISHU MILE IS A TESTAMENT TO THE BRAVERY AND DETERMINATION OF THE SOLDIERS INVOLVED, WHO PERSEVERED DESPITE FACING EXTREME ADVERSITY. IT ALSO SERVES AS A REMINDER OF THE SACRIFICES MADE BY THOSE WHO LOST THEIR LIVES IN THE BATTLE.
