Starting at 9:00 AM, participants will gather at the Monticello Farmers Market for packet pickup before embarking on a guided walk to the race start. With awards for the top three male and female finishers, as well as special prizes for the last place finisher and random drawings, there's plenty of motivation to push your limits. First place winners will not only receive a cash prize but also the chance to snag an additional reward for breaking the current course record!

Many races claim to be hilly...this race/run is nothing but a hill. Morris Hill is a legendary landmark in the Monticello community. Come conquer a 1.1 mile uphill challenge in beautiful Monticello, KY! This race will be a vertical mile with over 650 ft. of elevation gain. Twist and turns, beautiful scenery, and unrelenting climbing await you on this great landmark. Challenge yourself to run, walk, or crawl over the legendary hill here in Monticello. Are you up for the challenge of melting down on Morris Hill?
_PACKET PICKUP AND RACEDAY MORNING _
Packet pickup will be located at the Monticello Farmers Market. From there, you will be instructed to begin your (guided) approximate 5 minute walk to Morris Hill Rd for race start at 9:00 AM. Registration will end at 8:45 AM; fifteen minutes before race start. Feel free to ask questions beforehand about the course if you have not traveled the road before.
This race is a POINT TO POINT run/walk. Be prepared to walk/jog around 1.5 miles back to the farmers market for awards after the race. We will have shuttles for those that don't want to get a warm down in back to the market! There will be overall awards for the top three males and females. There will also be awards for our last place finisher, and two random drawings for awards. All finishers will be given stickers with the race logo. 1ST PLACE MAN AND WOMAN WILL RECEIVE $150 CASH! ANY WINNING TIME FASTER THAN THE CURRENT COURSE RECORD (8:21, Ryder Bell, 2025) WILL BE AWARDED $300.00!

Planning ahead...we want this race to be a Monticello/Wayne County staple for years. This community, as beautiful as it is, deserves beautiful races. For years, athletes in this town, and the surrounding areas have used Morris Hill as a test of fitness for their upcoming goals. We want to mark an activity, right here in Monticello, that shows that you can reach your goals. Let's start that with Morris Hill Meltdown!
_POST-RACE ACTIVITIES_
After the race, literally right beside the check in area...the June edition of the Monticello Market will be held. Feel free to enjoy local delicacies like a Pool Hall Cheeseburger; or check out many of the local vendors that will be setup all over the town square. Amazing woodworking, handmade jewelry, and lots of good food will be ready to take care of you after a big race.
Want a sweet treat after the race? Stop by 606 Fix and Mix to get some Froyo! The local coffee shop, The Lily Pad will be open to have you caffeinated post-race; and don't forget to check out Main Street Books to have a book to read home while you recover. These places, as well as many other local stores around town will be ready to open you with open arms. We hope that after you conquer Morris Hill, you can enjoy our small town festivities that bring joy to so many!
