Get ready to lace up your running shoes for the exhilarating Mount Helena Run, happening on Saturday, September 20, 2025, in the stunning Helena, Lewis and Clark! This exciting 9k (5.6 mile) trail race promises a breathtaking journey with 1,300 feet of elevation gain and loss. Runners will experience a blend of approximately 1.5 miles on roads and over 4 miles on scenic single-track trails, all while enjoying spectacular views of the City of Helena, Prickly Pear Valley, and the majestic Elkhorn and Big Belt Mountains.
Participants will sprint up the challenging slopes of Mount Helena before making a thrilling descent back to the historic Last Chance Gulch in downtown Helena. Packet pickup takes place from 9:00 am to 10:00 am before the race starts at Birds & Beaselys on the Walking Mall. Remember to register before September 1 for a reduced race fee! A 9k (5.6 mile) trail race. 1,300 feet of elevation gain/loss. About 1.5 miles on roads, 4+ miles on single track. Burn out your lungs busting up Mount Helena and see if your quads have anything left for the charge back down to historic Last Chance Gulch in the heart of downtown Helena. Views of the City of Helena, Prickly Pear Valley, and the Elkhorn and Big Belt Mountains.
