Organiser's Description
Welcome to MOVE FASD, a project of FASD United: The National Hub for FASD. From September 5-15, FASD United affiliates and advocates across the U.S. are hosting events inviting YOU to _join the movement._ Whether you run, roll, walk, dance, or cycle, MOVE FASD is about getting active and bringing visibility to the FASD community. With 5Ks, relays, dance marathons, and more, theres a way for everyone to join in. Lets move together, raise awareness, and show the power of our community in motion!
HOW MUCH DOES PARTICIPATING COST?
_Registration costs $10 for most events._ MOVE FASD is organized by FASD self-advocate and author, Rebecca Tillou and FASD United, the national hub for FASD. Some in-person events are free as an agreement between Race Organizers. Proceeds from registration and sales cover most of the costs of materials, shipping, staff time, and the event platform. Sponsorships allow us to reduce the costs for participants even further. Donations benefit an FASD organization of your choice!
NO LOCAL EVENT NEAR YOU?
We have two options for folks with no nearby events.
* FASD United hosts a virtual event that can happen at your time, wherever you are. Team up with your friends and family in your neighborhood, or create an in-person race to welcome your local community into your event. Once you're done, let us know how it went!
* If you would like to host an event, and post it to the public, please email Emma Baldwin at [email protected]. We are happy to promote your event on the MOVE FASD site, support registration for your event, and send social media you can share beforehand.
HOW ACCESSIBLE IS THIS EVENT?
MOVE FASD started as a virtual 5K in response to COVID-19, but has now expanded to include events centered around ANY movement (dance, walking, rolling, hula-hooping, and MORE). However, our events are community-led, and accessibility varies depending on the Move FASD event. Please reach out to the event contact with any questions regarding accessibility or accomodations.

OPENS 01 AUGRochester MoveFASD 2025 Date: Saturday September 27th, 2025 Time: 12pm 3pm Location: Northampton Park Ski Lodge 105 Hubbell Rd, Spencerport, NY 14559 https://www.monroecounty.gov/parks-northampton 5th Annual MoveFASD & Family Picnic Move FASD is a fun, family-friendly event designed to raise awareness about Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD) while getting our community moving together. Well have a variety of activity stationseverything from hula hooping and football toss to relay races and chalk art and more! Bring your family and friends and come out in support. Check-in at the Ski Lodge at Northampton Park any time after 12pm. Make sure to pick up your event passport youll get a sticker or stamp for every activity and table you visit. See how many you can get! Well be posting a more detailed schedule of events and a list of community organizations participating as the date approaches. We'll be grilling hot dogs and providing a few other munchies. You are also welcome to bring your own lunch or items to share with the group. The Alpine Adventure Zone Natural Playground is also near the lodge, which should be lots of fun for the kids. -
