The countdown is on! Nassau County is turning 200 (est. 1824), on December 29, 2024, for those marking your calendars. To commemorate our Bicentennial, the Nassau County Board of County Commissioners is hosting events and activities all year long to celebrate our history, while also working with the community to help sculpt our future through the Nassau Vision 2050 exercise.

This race not only celebrates the Bicentennial anniversary of Nassau County, it also kicks off the opening of the Amelia Island beaches, and after finishing the race, coincides with the _WILD AMELIA NATURE FESTIVAL_ at Main Beach Park.

Start your day with a beautiful sunrise at Peters Point Beachfront Park that is sure to give you inspiration!

A point to point 8K (5 miles), the race provides runners a unique opportunity to experience the breathtaking scenery of Amelia Island's beaches, starting from Peters Point Beachfront Park and ending at Main Beach Park to the North.

Whether you're a seasoned runner looking for a new challenge or a beginner seeking a memorable race experience, NASSAU COUNTY'S OPENING OF THE BEACHES ISLE OF 8K BEACH RUN has something for everyone. This thrilling 5-mile run takes you along the stunning coastline, where the sand meet the rolling waves, creating a picture-perfect backdrop for your athletic journey.

After you enjoy the _WILD AMELIA NATURE FESTIVAL_ at Main Beach Park, trolleys will take you back to your car at Peters Point Beachfront Park.
