Participants will enjoy a scenic route through the village, all while helping to honor the legacy of Nina LeCuyer, a cherished supporter of Legion Post 0729.
For just $35, your registration grants you entry into the exhilarating 5K race, as well as access to a delicious Memorial Day Breakfast hosted by the Legion at 8:30 AM. Following breakfast, be part of a heartfelt Memorial Day Ceremony that pays tribute to those who have bravely served our country. Awards will be presented to the top male and female finishers, along with recognition for the top veteran and the top three finishers in 14 different age divisions. Race day registration kicks off at 6:30 AM, so don't miss your chance to participate in this meaningful event that supports local community needs and the Illinois Veteran's Home. Join us for a day of fun, fitness, and remembrance!

2026 NINA LECUYER MEMORIAL 5K
Please join us as a runner/walker in our 7th running of the Nina LeCuyer Memorial 5K! The run will start/end at the American Legion in Sheridan and the route runs the streets through the village. The $35 registration fee gets you:
. Entry into the 5K race.
. Legions Memorial Day Breakfast following the run. Breakfast will open at 0830.
. Invitation to the Legions Memoria Day Ceremony to honor those that have served our country (will begin after breakfast).
Awards will be given to the TOP MALE AND FEMALE FINISHERS AS WELL THE THE TOP VETERAN, and then to the top three male and female finishers in 14 age divisions starting 9 and under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24. 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70+.
Race Day registration will be available starting at 0630.
This run was a dream of Nina LeCuyer, a long-time supporter of Legion Post 0729. To honor her memory, all proceeds from this and future events will support someone in need from the community or to support the Illinois Veteran's Home.
