A not-for-porfit 5K run/walk over the pastoral Edge Valley Road (Bundoran) in beautiful North Garden (15 minutes south of Charlottesville). And all to benefit our neighbors at the Red Hill Elementary School and North Garden Fire Department (extra donations greatly appreciated). Sponsored by the Ragged Mountain Running and Walking Shop and Dr. Ho's families.
Please no leashed dogs on the course as it is an out and back on a shared road with the cars. Thanks for understanding. Strollers are allowed but please be careful of the others runners or walkers.

Greetings, North Garden 5K friends!
We are thrilled to welcome you to the debut of what we hope you will find to be a fun and beautiful new 5K event fundraiser. After having lived on Garth Road for 45 years, we downsized and moved to North Garden last year and it was love at first site! We fell in love with the community, the people and the magnificent sceneryand you will be witnessing that stunning scenery first hand on Sunday, as Edge Valley Road along beautiful Bundoran Farm, is one of the prettiest places in the county!
Here are the detailsplease read them carefully so as to help enhance your experience.
-Packet pickup (your race number and long sleeve shirt) will be held at Ragged Mountain this Friday from 9-5 and Saturday from 9-4. There will also be packet pickup the morning of the race from 7:00-7:30 on Sunday.
-Parking will be at the start/finish at the Baldwin Center at 5005 Edge Valley Road (and on the farm at Derry Road across from the Center), which is just off of Plank Roadquickest way from Cville is to take 29 south to Plank Road heading west (right turn off 29)/then take Plank to Edge Valley (right hand turn) and the Baldwin Center will be on your right about 1/4 mile down Edge Valley.
-The 5K Run and Walk starts at 8:00am this SUNDAY (not Saturdaythe roads are much quieter on a Sunday).
-The course is an out and back circuit all on pavement. The first half of the course is much faster (a lot of descent sections), so take it out faster than normal. See two part video tutorial.
-We go rain or shine! In the rare case of lightning we will make a game time decision.
-Please wear your race number on the OUTSIDE of your top layer (on chest area), so its very visibleotherwise your individual chip wont record your finish time.
-Please run on the LEFT side of the road.
-There will be splits at the half mile, at mile 1, mile 2 and at 2.6 (half mile to go).
-Water and gatorade will be available at the finish.
-Prizes will be awarded as follows: Overall Male and Female; Then top 2 in the following age groups: 6 & younger, 7-10, 11-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80-84, 85-89, 90+. We will hold the awards ceremony at around 9:00. Complete results will be available at Blue Ridge Timing (usually within an hour or so after the race).
-ALL of the proceeds from this 100% not for profit event will be donated to the Red Hill Elementary School, the North Garden Fire Department and towards the purchase of a public AED defibrillator for the Crossroads Center.
