Join the excitement at the ORRC Turkey Trot at The Zoo on Thursday, November 27, 2025, in beautiful Portland, Multnomah! This vibrant family-friendly event offers a delightful 5K run/walk along a scenic out-and-back course that starts at the Oregon Zoo and heads toward the stunning International Rose Garden. Participants will finish inside the zoo at the Elephant Plaza, making for a memorable experience for all ages.
While the non-ORRC member 5K has sold out, there's still a chance to join the fun by becoming an ORRC member and registering for the member-exclusive 5K. Kids can also partake in the festivities with the Tot Trot for toddlers ages 0-4 and the Gobble Gallop for children aged 5-10, both taking place at the Elephant Plaza. Every participant will receive a fabulous beanie hat and a delicious chocolate turkey, ensuring a festive atmosphere. With a cap of 2,300 participants for non-members and no day-of-race registration, be sure to secure your spot early—last year’s event was a sell-out by November 6th! Plus, your registration supports the Oregon Zoo, with approximately $25,000 going towards its programs.

The ORRC Turkey Trot at the Oregon Zoo is a multi-generational family event. Runners and walkers of all abilities love the 5K, untimed out-and-back course. The event starts at The Oregon Zoo by the Forestry Center and the Max station, then goes out toward the International Rose Garden, and finishes inside The Oregon Zoo at the Elephant Plaza. The Tot Trot (children 0- 4 years old) and the Gobble Gallop (for children between 5 and 10 years old) events follow the 5K at the Elephant plaza inside the zoo.
Every entrant in the 5K and kids events receive an awesome beanie hat and chocolate turkey. Event shirts are an optional purchase, but the deadline to request a shirt is November 1st.
