Get ready for an exciting day of community spirit and athleticism at the P.O. Chris Hoban Memorial 5 Miler, 5K Run/Walk, and Kid's Dash on Sunday, September 20, 2026! This vibrant event will take place in the beautiful surroundings of Brooklyn, Kings, starting and finishing at Xaverian High School, located at 7100 Shore Road in Bay Ridge.
Participants can choose between the challenging 5 Mile Run that takes you along the picturesque promenade to the Verrazano Bridge, or the scenic 5K Run/Walk that follows the harbor promenade. Both races promise to be a fun experience, with the opening ceremony kicking off at 10:00 AM, followed by the races at 10:30 AM, rain or shine! Kids will also have a chance to join in the fun with a special Dash following the main events. Every participant will receive a commemorative t-shirt and medal, while supplies last.

COURSE
The 5 Mile Run starts and finishes at Xaverian located at 7100 Shore Road in Bay Ridge Brooklyn. The route runs along the promenade to the Verrazano Bridge and returns along Third Avenue to Xaverian.
The 5K route starts at Xaverian and goes down and back along the harbor promenade and returns to Xaverian.
If you are planning to Walk the 5K please line up behind the runners at the start.

Opening Ceremony begins at 10:00am - P.O. Christopher Hoban Service to New York Award
5 Mile Run & 5K Run/Walk starts at 10:30am (rain or shine).
The Kids Dash will take place at the completion of the run in front of Xaverian - All participants receive a short sleeve t-shirt and a medal at the finish line (while supplies last)

Interested in Running as a team? The lowest combined scores of 3 males and/or 3 females will be used to determine the winners. Team names need to be identified on the registration form.

This years Police Officer Christopher Hoban Service to New York Award will be presented to retired Deputy Chief Michael Collins at the 2026 opening ceremony of the Hoban Run.
Mike Collins is a long time supporter of the PO Chris Hoban Memorial Run. He is a community organizer deeply tied to the 70th Precinct leadership who helps spearhead local police memorial traditions and community events.
