The Pigman also welcomes relay teams, creating an exciting atmosphere of camaraderie and competition, with awards for the top Male, Female, and Coed teams. Athletes will kick off their race day bright and early, with elite competitors starting in waves at 7:30 AM. For others, a Time-Trial swim start format ensures a smooth entry into the water, allowing participants to line up according to their age group. RELAY TEAMS
Relay teams are welcome at the Pigman. Top Male, Female or Coed teams will win awards.
TIME-TRIAL SWIM START FORMAT
Elite athletes and teams will start in waves beginning at 7:30am. All other athletes will start in a Time-Trial format. For the Time-Trial start, athletes will line up according to their respective age group wave (Triathlon age is based on your age as of 12/31 of race year). One person will start every 3 seconds by crossing over the chip timing mat on the beach before entering the water.
