Get ready to kick off your Thanksgiving morning with the 19th Annual Pine Knoll Shores Turkey Trot on Thursday, November 26, 2026! Held in the beautiful community of Pine Knoll Shores, Carteret, this exciting event will feature a 5K Run/Walk and a 1.5 Mile Dog Stroll, both designed for participants of all ages and skill levels. The 5K race will start at 8:30 AM, winding through the scenic streets and the Crystal Coast Country Club Golf Course, while the Dog Stroll will follow at 8:35 AM, allowing you to enjoy the outdoors with your furry friends.
Not only is this event a great way to get active, but it also supports a noble cause, benefiting the Hope for the Warriors Angel Tree Project. Join fellow participants and consider making a tax-deductible donation to help those in need. Join us for the 19th annual Pine Knoll Shores Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving morning, November 26th. The 5K Turkey Trot is a free run/walk event, and all are welcome. The 5K (3.1 miles) run/walk begins at 8:30 AM but participants are asked to arrive earlier to mitigate some of the traffic related to parking. The run / walk course follows the residential streets of Pine Knoll Shores and also passes through the Crystal Coast Country Club golf course. You are welcome to walk the event but baby strollers will not be permitted on the golf course. However, if you wish to walk the entire 5K with a stroller, we ask that you consider doing two loops of the dog stroll course. Dogs are not allowed on the Golf Course. At the finish, water, bananas and treats will be available for participants. Online registration is available for this free event. Same day registration will also be available beginning on Wednesday November 25, from 3-4 PM at McNeill Park or at 7:30 AM at the start location but no new registrations will be taken after 8:00 AM The Turkey Trot is sponsored by the Pine Knoll Shores Parks and Recreation Committee and will occur rain or shine. All ages are welcome, and we ask that you make a donation to the Hope for the Warriors Angel Tree when you register online...and look for our volunteers who will be taking donations on site as well...Thank you. -
Pine Knoll Shores 1.5 Mile Dog Stroll

A 1.5-mile dog stroll is an easy walk around the "tree streets" of Pine Knoll Shores. The event will start immediately after the start of the 5K run. However, the course does not go through the country club as dogs or baby strollers are not permitted.
