Little known facts about the trails of Forest Park:
The Wisconsinian glaciation molded this land between 20,000 and 10,000 years ago and left the Harbor Hill Moraine, a series of small hills known as knob and kettle terrain, including Forest Park. Which means the trails are naturally carved, not manmade like most nyc parks. Come explore and experience the beautiful 100 year old pine grove and longest continuous oak forest in Queens!
This race is dedicated to Pinky the Pacer, the lil white and brown dog with the pink nose who completed several thousand miles of trail running through the woods of Forest Park in Queens. Legends never die.
