This unique event invites both firefighters and non-firefighters to tackle an impressive 40 floors and 800 steps of the iconic U.S. Bancorp Tower, affectionately known as Big Pink. Firefighters will ascend in full combat gear, weighing over 70 pounds, including the Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) used in real-life emergencies, while non-firefighter participants will compete in regular athletic attire.

This competitive, chip-timed race not only showcases incredible athleticism and bravery but also serves a noble cause. Since its inception in 2009, the Portland Firefighter Stairclimb has attracted over a thousand climbers from across the globe, raising more than $1.2 million in the fight against cystic fibrosis. With individual titles on the line for both men's and women's categories, participants will strive to make a significant impact while climbing for a cure.
