Organiser's Description
Chase the Standard on the Fastest Course in the Country
On the weekend of March 25/26, Trials of Miles is hosting a small invite-only half marathon race/time-trial at the IAAF/USATF certified Rockland Lake State Park course. The goal of this event is to provide the best possible conditions for athletes looking to chase the US OTQ marathon half standards (1:03 and 1:12), or fast times under 1:10/1:20** To that end we will provide pacers, bike escorts, and will mark tangents on the loop so that athletes are running the shortest distance possible. Everything will be designed towards helping athletes hit that time and we'll do whatever we can to control every possible variable.
The event is currently scheduled for Saturday, March 25, but we have a permit for Sunday, March 26 as well. If conditions look more favorable on Sunday the date of the event will be changed. ย
Although the event is designed for athletes chasing the OTQ standard, we plan to organize a few other pace groups (likely 1:05 or 1:07 for men and 1:15 and 1:18 for women) and this is a great opportunity for any elite athlete looking to put down a fast time.
If you are interested in competing, please fill out the form below and someone from our team will reach out with additional information.
** Eligibility Requirements: Men (2:31 Marathon, 1:10 Half, 31:00 10K) Women (2:53 Marathon, 1:20 Half, 37:00 10k)
