Get ready to lace up your running shoes for the 2nd Annual Red Wave 5K, taking place on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at Fresno State! This exciting event includes a 5K race and a 1.5-mile run, all aimed at raising funds for the talented Red Wave Indoor percussion ensemble. Participants will not only enjoy a vibrant atmosphere but also have the chance to support local young adults as they compete in winter percussion events across California and beyond, including the prestigious WGI Percussion World Championships in Dayton, OH.
Registration is now open, and runners can pick up their race packets on Friday, October 10, from 12-3 PM at Fleet Feet Fresno. For those who prefer last-minute preparations, late pickup will be available on race day at 7:00 AM. Each participant will receive a commemorative t-shirt, and awards will be presented to the top finishers in each age group, as well as to the first male and female overall. Join us for a day of fun, fitness, and community spirit as we cheer on our runners and support the incredible talent of Red Wave Indoor. Go Dogs!

2ND ANNUAL RED WAVE 5K
The Red Wave 5k and 1.5 mile run is a fundraising event to benefit Red Wave Indoor. Red Wave Indoor is a percussion ensemble at Fresno State that participates in the competitive activity known as winter percussion. Each spring, Red Wave Indoor will compete in competitions locally and throughout California, culminating in the WGI Percussion World Championships in Dayton, OH where hundreds of other groups compete in the 3-day event. Proceeds from the Red Wave 5K help make this all possible!

PACKET PICKUP will be Friday, October 10, from 12-3 pm at Fleet Feet Fresno, located at 9447 N Fort Washington Rd #106, Fresno, CA 93730. Late pickup morning of the race at 7:00 am.
Participants will receive a t-shirt. Awards will be given to the top finisher of each age group, as well as the first male and female finishers overall.

ABOUT RED WAVE INDOOR
Founded in 2017, the group performs at local, state, and national competitions every winter. The ensemble seeks to further the growth of young adults in the Central Valley through performance in the pageantry arts. For more information about Red Wave Indoor, please visit their website [https://www.redwaveindoor.org/].
Members of Red Wave Indoor are required to pay membership fees to offset the costs of instructional staff, program designers, transportation, and so much more. In conjunction with the Friends of the Bulldog Marching Band, a non-profit organization that supports the athletic band programs at Fresno State, the goal of this event is to lessen the monetary burden placed on students and allow them to focus on getting the most out of their experience.
