Join us for an unforgettable celebration this Independence Day at the inaugural Red, White, and WARRIOR 5K in Grand Junction, Mesa! Taking place on Saturday, July 4th, 2026, at the beautiful Las Colonias Park, this family-friendly event promises a day of fun, fitness, and community spirit. The festivities kick off bright and early with the Star-Spangled Banner, followed by the Little Sparkler Sprint for kids aged 12 and under at 7:30 AM. Runners of all ages can lace up their shoes for the main event, the Red, White, and WARRIOR 5K, starting at 8:00 AM.
This chip-timed race will take participants on a scenic route that includes a full circle around Watson Island and a delightful finish with a drum line to keep the energy high. Water stations will be conveniently located to keep everyone hydrated, and essential facilities will be available throughout the park. Whether you're a runner, walker, or just want to cheer on your loved ones, come together to celebrate movement, music, and community pride this 4th of July! Please join us for the 1st annual _RED, WHITE, AND WARRIOR 5K_ this Independence Day at Las Colonias! This family-friendly race is proudly hosted by and benefits the Central High School Warrior Marching Band. Runners, walkers, and move to the beat of your own drum'ers of all ages are welcome.
The morning will include the Star-Spangled Banner, 7:30 am Little Sparkler Sprint (about 1/4 mile) for kids 12 and under, 8:00 am Red, White, and WARRIOR 5k for any age, and a drum line finish line

COURSE MAP BELOW: THE RACE WILL START NEXT TO THE TRANQUILLO SHELTER AT LAS COLONIAS PARK. FROM THERE IT WILL FOLLOW THE SIDEWALK TOWARD THE RIVER AND TURN WEST, CONTINUING WEST UNTIL THE AMPHITHEATER BEHIND THE BOTANICAL GARDENS. IT WILL THEN TURN SOUTH AND TAKE THE BRIDGE OVER TO WATSON ISLAND. IT WILL MAKE A FULL CIRCLE AROUND WATSON ISLAND AND BEGIN TO DOUBLE BACK EAST TOWARD THE BUTTERFLY POND. IT WILL MAKE A FULL CIRCLE AROUND THE PONDS, AND HEAD BACK TO THE START/FINISH LINE.
*_WATER_ will be available near the start/finish line. A water station will be available during the 5k at the bridge to Watson Island. There is a lion water fountain at the Amphitheater at Las Colonias.
*_Restrooms_ are available at the Tranquillo Shelter and at the Butterfly Pond.
SPECIAL NOTE: THE COMPLETE COURSE WILL BE PAVED TO ACCOMMODATE ALL PARTICIPANTS.
