The Ripley Ramble is designed to be approachable and fun, welcoming both seasoned adventurers and beginners. Teams of up to four will navigate the beautiful course areas of Ripley, Quincy, and Paavola, all while enjoying the camaraderie of fellow participants. With basic navigation assistance available for newcomers, there’s no need for prior experience! Join us for a day filled with exploration, teamwork, and the great outdoors. RipleyRamble is a free, community-organized adventure race featuring hiking, biking, and orienteering. All participation is at your own risk. This event is run by volunteers and is not affiliated with any organization.

Donations are welcome to help cover the cost of food, water, and event materials.

The current proposed course area includes Ripley, Quincy, and Paavola, though this is subject to change as planning progresses.

You can register as an individual or in teams of up to 4 people. Teams will navigate the course together

This is a fluid, collaborative event, and input is welcome! Please SIGN UP for one of the following events options:

WHAT IS A ADVENTURE RACE OR ORIENTEERING COURSE:

While RipleyRamble may not fit perfectly into a specific category, it will follow a similar format to ADVENTURE RACING and ROGAINING. Both of these event types can be "extreme," but RIPLEYRAMBLE IS DESIGNED TO BE FUN AND APPROACHABLE:

The 5-HOUR MAIN COURSE is intended for recreational adventurers.
The 2 HOUR COURSE is designed to be family-friendly and beginner-friendly.
The 8-HOUR COURSE is for those that want some extra mileage in their day.
Participants will navigate at their own pacewhether hiking, biking, or simply exploring. No experience necessary basic navigation help will be available for newcomers!

    This is the core RipleyRamble event! Navigate your way through the hills and trails of Ripley, Quincy, and Paavola by bike and on foot. Using a compass and topographic maps, participants will locate a series of checkpoints spread throughout the area. Expect a mix of adventure, challenge, and local scenery. Estimated Distance: 48 miles of hiking, 810 miles of biking (Road and Gravel)
  • 8 Hour Hiking & Biking Adventure Race

    For those looking for a bigger adventure, this is the extended RipleyRamble event! Navigate your way through the hills and trails of Ripley, Quincy, Paavola, and Hancock Trails by bike and on foot. Using a compass and topographic maps, participants will locate a series of checkpoints spread throughout the extended area. Expect adventure, challenge, and local scenery. Estimated Distance: 10+ miles of hiking, 15+ miles of biking (Road, Gravel, & Single Track)
