Welcome to all runners, walkers, and volunteers

Whether this is your very first step into the world of running or youve logged countless miles already, we're excited to have you join us for the third running of the Riverdale Temple event. Running is more than just a sport, it's a journey of perseverance,_ _self-discovery, and growth. Every stride you take brings new challenges, but also new victories, both big and small.

This is a space where effort matters more than pace and showing up is the greatest achievement of all. Some days will feel effortless; others will test your limitsbut every run contributes to your progress. Remember, theres no single right way to be a runner. Your path is uniquely yours.

As you move forward with us, celebrate your milestones, learn from your setbacks, and most importantly, enjoy the process. Support one another, stay consistent, and dont forget to have fun along the way.

Your participation in this event, whether as a participant or as a volunteer, helps support Riverdale Temple programming, and ensures that much-needed resources are in place for the entire communitys benefit. As we continue to provide and grow our current community programming, such as movie nights, theater shows, karaoke nights, community Labor Day barbecue, fitness and wellness classes, high holiday celebrations, our new Playspace, Jewish Adult Education and much more your financial support by participating and/or donating to this amazing event makes this day much more special!

Riverdale Temple is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded in 1947, and offers people from all walks of life a vibrant, progressive, multi-generational Reform Jewish community right here in Riverdale. We are committed to a warm, caring, inclusive approach to Jewish life, and we celebrate the beautiful diversity of our membership. Our community consists of young and old, singles and couples, young families, members of the LGBTQIA+, and includes those from Jewish and non-Jewish backgrounds.

Through our dedication to _tikkun olam_, or repairing the world, we initiate and/or take part in many forms of community outreach including grocery collections, clothing drives, and our own Mitzvah Day, an annual day of community service focusing on projects within and outside the Temple to serve others in the larger community.

RIVERDALE TEMPLE HAS ESTABLISHED A LONG-TERM PARTNERSHIP WITH SIENA HOUSE, HELPING THEM IN THEIR MISSION OF PROVIDING TRANSITIONAL HOUSING FOR PREGNANT WOMEN AND MOTHERS WITH CHILDREN UNDER THE AGE OF TWO IN THE SOUTH BRONX. THE PRIMARY GOAL OF SIENA HOUSE IS TO SUPPORT NEW MOTHERS AS THEY WORK TO ACHIEVE SELF-SUFFICIENCY, PERMANENT HOUSING, AND A SAFE PLACE TO RAISE THEIR FAMILIES. YOU CAN HELP SIENA HOUSE BY BRINGING THE FOLLOWING ITEMS FOR DONATION ON RACE DAY: DIAPERS (SIZES 0-3), BABY WIPES, AND FORMULA. THESE NECESSARY BUT EXPENSIVE ITEMS ARE NOT COVERED BY NEW YORK CITYS DEPARTMENT OF HOMELESS SERVICES, AND YOUR DONATIONS WILL HELP SUPPORT THESE NEW MOTHERS AS THEY ENDEAVOR TOWARD A DIGNIFIED, STABLE, AND SECURE ENVIRONMENT FOR THEIR FAMILIES.

Lace up, take a deep breath and begin your journey now.
