Join us on Sunday, May 4th, 2025, for the exciting Rockford 70.3 Preview Ride in beautiful Rockford, Winnebago! This organized group ride offers participants a unique opportunity to preview the Ironman 70.3 bike course, all while enjoying a supportive and social atmosphere. Kicking off at 10:00 AM, riders will traverse the scenic route at a comfortable pace of 15-16 mph, making it perfect for cyclists of all skill levels.
Starting and finishing at the transition area behind the Embassy Suites, located at 416 South Main Street, Rockford, IL, this event will feature expert support from the Winnebago County Sheriff, who will provide lead and trailing escorts throughout the ride. Riders can refuel at the halfway point with snacks, water, and bathroom access, courtesy of the Rock River Multisport support tent. After the ride, don’t miss the chance to unwind with fellow cyclists at the Embassy Suites, where delicious food and drinks await. ROCK RIVER MULTISPORT GROUP RIDE.
** RIDE THE IRONMAN 70.3/ROCKFORD COURSE **
This group ride is an organized, supported, group ride to preview the Ironman/Rockford 70.3 bike course.
SUNDAY MAY 4TH, 2025
10:00AM
Details:
* GROUP RIDE - if you choose to ride ahead, you acknowledge that you are not covered by traffic control escorts.
* Pace of ride will be 15-16mph - this is meant as a no-drop social, course preview ride.
* Start and Finish at the transition area (behind the Embassy Suites/Rockford).
* 416 South Main Street, Rockford IL 61104.
* Parking will be first-come, first-served in several lots close to the hotel (see map below).
* We recommend Road or TT bike.
* Winnebago County Sheriff will provide LEAD and TRAILING escorts for entire ride.
* Please ride with the group - splinter groups are not recommended as the traffic on the course roads is heavy and the roads do not have large shoulders - if any.
* The route will not be closed and WILL BE OPEN TO ALL NORMAL TRAFFIC.
* Rules of the Road need to be observed by all riders.
* RRM support tent near 1/2-way point (on Yale Bridge Road). There will be snacks, water, and bathrooms.
* We will attempt to "re-group" at the 1/2-way tent.
* RRM SAG vehicle with some water and limited repair items. Please bring all your self-supporting items.
* Registration fee covers the cost of County Sheriff escorts, insurance, and support.
AFTER RIDE FUN ACTIVITY - Rock River Multisport has reserved some space inside the lower Restaurant/Bar of the Embassy Suites to grab some small bites and some beverages after the ride. Participants will be responsible for the cost of their refreshments.
