Get ready to run for a cause at the 53rd Annual Rockford Road Runners Thanksgiving Turkey Trot on Thursday, November 27, 2025! This beloved event takes place in Rockford, Winnebago, and is celebrated as the oldest race in the area. Participants will enjoy a challenging 5K trail that promises an exhilarating experience with hills, rocks, and roots along the way.
Starting at 9 AM, runners will embark on this chip-timed adventure, and don’t forget to sign up online as there will be no race day registration. Packet pick-up will occur on race day from 7:15 to 8:45 AM, where you can also grab your preordered long sleeve race shirt for just $25. This year, the Turkey Trot continues its tradition of supporting the Rock River Valley Food Pantry, and we encourage all participants to consider making a donation. Join us for a fun-filled morning of running, community spirit, and random finish line giveaways, all in support of a great cause!

53RD ANNUAL ROCKFORD ROAD RUNNERS TURKEY TROT IS THE OLDEST AREA RACE! THE RACE HAS LONG BEEN A FUNDRAISER FOR THE ROCK RIVER VALLEY FOOD PANTRY, WITH MANY THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS HAVING BEEN RAISED OVER THE YEARS AND CONTINUES THAT TRADITION THIS YEAR. OUR HOPE IS THAT IN SIGNING UP ALL WILL CONSIDER INCLUDING A DONATION TO SUPPORT TO THE ROCK RIVER VALLEY FOOD PANTRY.
THE DISTANCE IS LISTED AS 5K. THE DISTANCE IS AND ALWAYS HAS BEEN APPROXIMATE. IT IS A TRAIL RACE, THERE WILL BE HILLS, ROCKS, HILLS, ROOTS, HILLS, AND PROBABLY MORE HILLS!
