Join us at the Run for the Hungry event organised by the Christian Food Bank of Hopkins County on Thanksgiving morning, Thursday, November 28th, 2024 at Mahr Park in Madisonville, Hopkins. The event features a 5k run/walk and a kids 1/4 mile fun run, starting at 8am for the kids and 8:15am for the 5k participants. Strollers and leashed dogs are welcome, with packet pick-up available the day before and on race morning. Prizes will be awarded to various categories, and there is an option for group discounts and sponsorship opportunities. Join us at beautiful Mahr Park for a 5k run/walk and kids 1/4 mile fun run on Thanksgiving morning, Thursday, November 28th, 2024 and raise much needed funds for the Christian Food Bank of Hopkins County.
KIDS RUN STARTS AT 8AM, SHARP. 5K RUN/WALK STARTS AT 8:15AM, SHARP
Strollers and well-behaved LEASHED dogs are welcome (please clean up after your dog! (We ask that you start behind the runners.)
PACKET PICK-UP will take place at the Mahr Park Kayak Launch, from 12:00pm-3:00pm on Wednesday, November 27th, and beginning at 7:00am on race morning.
ONLINE REGISTRATION WILL CLOSE AT 11:59 PM ON MONDAY, NOVEMBER 4TH, BUT WILL BE OPEN AT PACKET PICK UP ON WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 27TH, NOON-3PM, AND ON RACE MORNING 7AM- UNTIL 7:45AM,(CASH OR CHECK ONLY!) THURSDAY NOVEMBER 28TH (WE CANNOT GUARANTEE A T-SHIRT WITH SAME DAY REGISTRATION!) PLEASE ALLOW AMPLE TIME ON RACE MORNING TO FILL OUT A WAIVER AND GET YOUR BIB.
TO GUARANTEE YOU GET A T-SHIRT ON RACE MORNING, YOU MUST BE REGISTERED BY NOVEMBER 4TH.

In the event that an overall winner also wins their age group, they will not receive two prizes, the next runner to finish in that category will receive the prize.
In order to give as much money as possible to the food bank, we are choosing to pass the processing fees on to our participants. ($2.20 per 5k runner.) The more people you sign up at one time, the lower the overall processing fees, so get the whole family out and start a new Thanksgiving tradition!

ON RACE DAY WE NEED VOLUNTEERS TO HELP WITH SET-UP (6:30AM-8:00AM), TEAR DOWN (10:00AM-11:00AM), PACKET PICK-UP, WATER STATION VOLUNTEERS, GEAR DROP AND TRAFFIC CONTROL (ADULTS ONLY) TO KEEP RUNNERS SAFE AS THEY CROSS THE ROADS DURING THE RACE. GROUPS OF 5 OR MORE WILL BE ENTITLED TO SOME SPONSOR BENEFITS, SUCH AS THEIR GROUP OR BUSINESS NAME ON RACE T-SHIRTS. VOLUNTEERS MUST BE OVER 18 UNLESS ACCOMPANIED BY AN ADULT AT ALL TIMES.
