Organiser's Description
Lace up your trail shoes and come run at Forest Ridge Park. We have access to the parks trails once again and will feature a 10k trail run. But with a twist. You can bail out of the 10k at the halfway (ish) point and do a 5k instead. The course will be a looping point-to-point meaning that its kind of a loop, but the course wont cross or repeat itself any more than absolutely necessary. And when it does, itll be in the opposite direction. It will take place on a mix of trail surfaces and types including a very fast gravel road and more technical single track trails. The race will include the scenic Shoreline Trail, which opens to beautiful views of Falls Lake. Runners from 2022 event can expect a brand new race experience.
If you plan on bailing at 5k, its easy. Almost too easy. All you gotta do is turn at the bail-out point away from the 10k course and go touch the gate at the finish line. At that point you will be officially finished and you will receive a unique finishers medal. First male and female to finish the bail-out 5k will get place awards as well.
All 10k finishers will get a special medal as well as bragging rights for running the entire 6.2 ish miles. First and second place male and female will earn an even more special award for their accomplishment.
This race will be timed a bit "old school". What does that mean? You'll find out at the start line! (2022 racers already know, so maybe they'll share on the Facebook page.)
