Join us for the exhilarating Run Through the Storm 5K on Saturday, March 23rd, 2024, in beautiful Hyannis, Barnstable! This spirited event, organized by the dedicated students and teachers of Sturgis East Charter Public School, aims to raise funds for the school's track and field program while promoting community engagement. The race kicks off at 10:00 AM on Pearl Street, with walkers and runners starting together.
The 5K course will take participants through scenic routes, including South Street, Old Colony Road, and Ocean Street, with plenty of volunteers to guide you along the way. For the little ones, we have a free 100m dash fun run for kids under 10 starting at 9:30 AM—no registration is required, just bring your enthusiasm! The first 100 registrants before February 10, 2024, will receive a complimentary race shirt. Plus, there are medals and prizes for the top finishers in various age groups, so grab your running shoes and join us for a fantastic day of fitness and fun!

Organiser's Description
A 5K service project organized by students and teachers at Sturgis East Charter Public School to help raise money to support our track and field program. Locally funded, and a Run/Walk to encourage everyone to participate. The first 100 people to sign up before, 02/10/2024, will get a free race shirt.
Race starts on Pearl street at Sturgis at 10:00 am, on Saturday, March 23rd, 2024
Kids under 10: 100m dash fun run down pearl street at 9:30, admission free, don't have to sign up, donations appreciated, just contact through the website to let me know you have kids interested!
We will plan to have walkers start at the same time as runners, but if you intend to walk, we will ask you to start near the back.
THE RACE MAP IS ATTACHED BELOW
THE COURSE WILL GO AS FOLLOWS:
RACE STARTS ON PEARL STREET AND TURN LEFT ONTO SOUTH STREET, THEN TAKE A RIGHT ONTO OLD COLONY ROAD AND GO STRAIGHT FOR ABOUT 1 MILE, THEN TURN LEFT ONTO GOSNOLD ROAD, THEN RIGHT ONTO ESTY ROAD, LEFT ONTO HAWES AVE (WATER STATION AT THIS POINT, 1.5 MILES), LEFT ONTO OCEAN STREET, STRAIGHT BACK FOR ABOUT 1 MILE TO A MERGE BACK ONTO OLD COLONY, WHICH MERGES BACK TO SOUTH STREET, RIGHT BACK ONTO PEARL STREET TO FINISH AT THE SAME START-LINE LOCATION. RACE IS 5K, AND THERE WILL BE VOLUNTEERS STATIONED AT EVERY TURN TO HELP KEEP RUNNERS ON THE ROUTE.
_Bib_ Pick-up is Same Day Only, and begins at 8:30.
There are medals for age groups and prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd M and F for the open 0-17 division, and other age groups from HANLON SHOES for first place male and female finisher in each age group:
