This event honors the memory of Christopher Beckett, who passed away in 2019 after a courageous battle with Neurofibromatosis.
The Christopher Beckett Memorial Scholarship Fund along with Chris' family have created a 5K and 1 mile fun run/walk in order to keep the scholarship going in his memory. The scholarship is awarded to a North Schuylkill graduating senior attending an institution of higher education seeking a degree related to the health care profession. Chris, a 2004 graduate of North Schuylkill Jr./Sr. High School, was a loving son, brother, uncle and friend to many. He always had a passion for learning, especially all the details of the medical information his doctors provided him. This directed him into his field of study and in 2008 he graduated with a degree in Health Information Technology.
THE EVENT WILL TAKE PLACE ON NOVEMBER 2, 2024 IN LANDINGVILLE, PA ALONG THE BARTRAM SECTION OF THE SCHUYLKILL RIVER TRAIL. THIS IS AN OUT-AND-BACK FLAT COURSE WITH A LOT OF SHADE (GREAT FOR A NEW PR!) T-SHIRTS ARE GUARANTEED TO THOSE WHO REGISTER BY OCTOBER 20TH. SHIRTS WILL BE GIVEN TO REGISTRANTS WHILE SUPPLIES LAST FOR THOSE WHO REGISTER AFTER OCTOBER 20TH. PACKET PICKUP IS TBD.
