CYFIP2 Network is hosting a virtual running challenge on October 15th, 2024 to fund research efforts aimed at testing potential treatments for CYFIP2 Early Infantile Epileptic Encephalopathy. We are fundraising to help support research efforts to test potential treatments via mice, before starting a human clinical trial. Mice are often used in medical research studies due to their genes functioning in a similar way to humans. Conducting treatment studies in mice also allows researchers to track how a disease starts and progresses, and whether or not a treatment would be effective. Our fundraising goal is $50,000: our partner laboratory cost for the mouse model to test the identified medications in the recent study published from Brazil: https://www.mdpi.com/2227-9059/12/3/479
