Event summary
Brian has shown incredible resilience in his battle against adrenoleukodystrophy (ALD) and now faces a new challenge with Myelodysplastic Syndrome (MDS). This event not only honors his spirit but also aims to raise funds to assist his family as they navigate the journey of treatment in New York City. Come together to celebrate community, strength, and the power of hope while enjoying a fantastic day of fitness and friendship. Whether youβre an avid runner or prefer a leisurely stroll, your participation will make a meaningful difference!
Organiser's Description
At age 4, Brian was diagnosed with adrenoleukodystrophy (ALD) -- a rare genetic debilitating brain disease. Thankfully, he was diagnosed early and became part of a gene therapy trial that resulted in him living a wonderfully full, healthy life for the last 10 years. Unfortunately, he was just diagnosed with Myelodsysplastic Syndrome (MDS) and now needs a stem cell transplant.
The Dover Community would like to host this 5k & 10k run, jog, or walk in honor of Brian's continuous strength and to help raise funds for the family who will be traveling back and forth to NYC frequently.
