Participants can choose between two challenging trail run distances: a 5K and a 10K, both set against the stunning backdrop of the Sandia Mountains. The runs will kick off from the far east parking lot of the Sandia Resort and Casino, with the 10K starting at 9:05 AM and the 5K following closely after at 9:15 AM.
In addition to the main races, there will be a delightful Kids Fun Run, ensuring that everyone can join in on the fun! The event supports the Presbyterian Ear Institute, helping deaf and hard-of-hearing children thrive in their education. With on-site registration beginning at 8:00 AM and a lively award ceremony at 10:00 AM, this event promises to be a fantastic morning filled with camaraderie and encouragement. Organiser's Description
The Sandia Resort & Casino Run to Break the Silence benefitting Presbyterian Ear Institute will take place on Sunday April 19, 2026 at Sandia Resort & Casino with a 5K and 10K Trail Run and a Kids Fun Run. The 5K and 10K will start and finish in the far east parking lot at Sandia Resort and Casino. The trail covers an all-terrain cross-country course in the challenging foothills of the Sandia Mountains. No pets are allowed. You may bring your infant/ toddler in a stroller to the community fair portion of the event, but you may not participate in the 5K or 10K with a stroller. Register by 4/12 to receive a long-sleeve 2026 RTBS Sport-Tech T-shirt. On-Site registration will begin at 8:00am. Warm-up will begin at 8:45am. Proceeds will support Presbyterian Ear Institute's School for Oral Deaf Education, where deaf and hard of hearing children, listen, learn and speak! We invite you to become a Silence Breaker joining us for a morning of fitness and fun!
Runner Packet Pick up will be held on Saturday 4/18/26 at New Mexico Look (6611 Menaul Blvd. NE) 10:30am - 3:00pm. Your packet will include your shirt- if registered by 4/12, bib and timing chip. If registering at Packet-Pick Up, please bring a debit or credit card, as registration is card only this year.

Run to Break the Silence Virtual Run: Stand With Us, Run Where You Are

"Run to Break the Silence Virtual Run: Stand With Us, Run Where You Are" allows participants to complete a 5K (3.1 miles) on their own schedule and in a location of their choice. Walk, jog, or run wherever you are during the event window. There is no set start time or course, and participants should plan their route accordingly. All participants registered by 4/3/2026 will be guaranteed a 2026 Run to Break the Silence Sport Tech T-shirt, which will be mailed. Thank you for standing with us and supporting PEIs mission to help families choose listening and spoken language for their deaf or hard of hearing children.
