This race is a virtual 5k which serves as a fundraiser for the Jordan D. Savage Foundation, Inc.
A virtual race is an event where you sign up and participate on a course of your choosing (or a treadmill). This is a great opportunity to work towards your running goals, stay healthy, and support a great cause! You can run or walk anytime between June 1 and June 7, 2026.
Everyone receives a T-shirt and a fabulous participation medal. THERE IS ALSO A NO-T-SHIRT OPTION.
The foundation is a 501(c)3 community service organization that is dedicated to honoring and celebrating the life of Jordan Savage by raising funds to provide support to the high school and youth sports programs in our community. Jordan was a passionate and loyal athlete, teammate, NASCAR fan, and Lupus warrior. He was not only an athlete, but many would tell you he was one of the smartest guys in his classes. He also served faithfully in the JROTC, achieving the rank of cadet/Sgt. He was 19 and on his way to attend Oglethorpe University with a full scholarship. We can think of no better way to memorialize his life than to hold services and raise funds to enable young athletes to play, enjoy, and excel in the sport of their choice. We also want to raise awareness about the cruel mystery of Lupus and to help find a cure.
All proceeds from this all-volunteer non-profit event will go towards scholarships given out by the Jordan D. Savage Foundation. For more information on the Foundations scholarship programs, please visit http://www.jdotsavage.org
