Join us for the 2nd Annual Scranton Turkey Trot organized by Julia and Matt McAndrew on Thanksgiving Day, November 28th, 2024, in Scranton, Lackawanna. Lace up your running shoes and bring the whole family for a 5k run or 1 Mile Fun Walk at Nay Aug Park. This event aims to promote community spirit, fitness, and gratitude on this special holiday. The scenic 5k course is perfect for all levels of runners, with post-race snacks and refreshments provided. Proceeds will benefit the Nay Aug Park Association for park revitalization in honor of the James "Red" McAndrew Foundation. Kids 12 and under can participate for free! Organiser's Description
We welcome you and your family to participate in the 2nd Annual Scranton Turkey Trot! This 5k run and 1 Mile Fun Walk serves to bring the community together to exercise, have fun and give thanks on one of the best days of the year. What better way to start your Thanksgiving than family, football, and a 5k.
Whether this is your first 5K or you're a seasoned runner, we welcome you and encourage you to partake.
The race begins at 9:00 AM in the hopes it won't interfere with any of the days other activities. The 5K scenic course is mostly flat with a few rolling hills. There are no street crossings.
Snacks and refreshments will be provided after the race including Dunkin Donuts Coffee and Apple Cider.
Proceeds from the event will be presented to the Nay Aug Park Association for the continued revitalization of Nay Aug in the name of the James "Red" McAndrew Foundation. A Hill Section native, Red often boasted that Nay Aug Park was a diamond within the city of Scranton, and we look forward to helping preserve it.
*KIDS 12 AND UNDER ARE FREE!

PACKET PICK UP: 12 TO 5 PM ON WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 27TH AT THE SCRANTON RUNNING COMPANY, 3 WEST OLIVE ST., SCRANTON, PA 18508
DAY OF REGISTRATION: 7:30 - 8:45 AM at Nay Aug Park.

Race Location: Nay Aug Park, Olive St. Entrance
Start will be in front of the Community Room (old pool concession stand)
Finish will be in the Schimelfenig Pavilion parking lot
Awards: Trophies will be awarded to top male and female as well as to the top male and female in the below age groups:
