To keep you motivated during the summer and celebrate the annual summer tradition of Shark Week, Relevant Running brings you the Shark Bait Summer Running/Walking Challenge! Relevant Running is always trying to help keep you motivated and inspired. Join us throughout July and August 2024 for the Shark Bait Summer Running/Walking Challenge. A virtual challenge for runners and walkers of all ages anywhere at any time. Your goal, should you choose to accept it, is to walk and/or run 150 purposeful/training miles from July 1st through August 31st 2024. Read on for details!
Shark Bait Summer Running/Walking Challenge participants will receive:
The one of a kind custom designed Shark Bait Challenge medal (a whopping 4 inch medal with incredible detail). This medal features a 3D molded shark surrounded by 3D molded shark jaws and teeth. The water our shark is swimming in is molded from an ocean blue translucent material for a very unique affect. EVEN IF YOU DO NOT COMPLETE 150 MILES, YOU WILL STILL GET YOUR MEDAL. Scroll down for picture of this awesome custom medal. Runners who surpass 150 miles during the 2 month challenge will receive 1 shark themed charm for each additional 10 miles beyond 150 miles. Scroll down for pictures of the cool shark themed charms we have for you. PLEASE NOTE: Runners are limited to earning a maximum of 20 charms.
Tracking
Tracking is accomplished by uploading to the Challenge runsignup page (from popular apps or manually). You will be able to see your progress tracking bar as well as milestones achieved along the way. You will also be able to follow others that are currently active in the Challenge. Info regarding your tracking link will be emailed to you at approximately midnight the day the challenge starts.
Challenge duration:
You can start/join the Challenge any time after 12:01am Eastern time July 1st 2024. Complete your purposeful/training miles at your own pace throughout the 2 months. The Challenge ends at 11:59pm Eastern time August 31st 2024..
Leaderboard Status
You will be able to log your distance, time for each run or walk. This will track who is in the lead.
