Organiser's Description
THE SHAVER LAKE TRATHLON HAS MOVED TO LAKE EVANS IN THE BUENA VISTA RECREATIONAL AREA.
DUE TO THE GARNET FIRE, THERE IS SIGNIFICANT FIRE-FIGHTING ACTIVITY IN AND AROUND SHAVER LAKE. THE FIRE CONTINUES TO SPREAD, AND AIR QUALITY HAS BEEN SHIFTING RAPIDLY BETWEEN GOOD AND HAZARDOUS AS WIND CONDITIONS CHANGE.
WE HAVE RECEIVED OFFICIAL NOTICE FROM THE SHERIFFS OFFICE THAT THE TRIATHLON CANNOT TAKE PLACE AT SHAVER LAKE ON SEPTEMBER 14.
WITH SHORT NOTICE, KERN COUNTY PARKS & RECREATION HAS GRACIOUSLY ALLOWED US TO RELOCATE THE EVENT TO LAKE EVANS ON THE SAME DATE.
