Get ready for an exhilarating summer of running at the Shawangunk Runners Summer XC Series, taking place from July 6 to August 3, 2026, in the scenic New Paltz, Ulster area! This year marks the 52nd edition of the beloved XC series, featuring four beautifully designed courses that showcase the stunning landscapes of the Shawangunk Ridge. Runners can choose from distances ranging from 3 miles to 4.7 miles, with courses set on the picturesque carriage roads of Mohonk Preserve and Minnewaska State Park.
The excitement kicks off on Monday, July 6, with the Undercliff/Overcliff route, a challenging 4.7-mile race at the West Trapps Entry of Mohonk Preserve. Each following Monday, participants can tackle courses like the 3-mile Patterson's Pellet and the 4-mile Blueberry Run, both at Lake Minnewaska, and the 4.3-mile Lous Run at the Spring Farm Trailhead. Each race evening begins with bib pickup at 6 p.m., followed by informal children's runs at 6:45 p.m. and the adult race at approximately 7 p.m. Don't miss the award ceremony and fun run on

Since 1974, Shawangunk Runners has hosting a summer XC series to showcase some of the great running opportunities on and around the Shawangunk Ridge. This year's 52nd series features four spectacularly scenic coursesranging from 3 miles to 4.7 mileson the carriage roads of Mohonk Preserve and Minnewaska State Park.
NOTE: REGISTRATION IS CLOSED FOR THE FIRST TWO RACES. YOU CAN STILL REGISTER FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE SERIES.
Bib pickup each week starts at 6 p.m. Informal children's half-mile and one-mile runs kick off at 6:45, with the adult race immediately following at approximately 7 p.m. Here's the schedule:

_The series is free for Shawangunk Runners club members, and you MUST be a club member to participate._ Start by making sure you have a 2026 Shawangunk Runners club membership [https://runsignup.com/MemberOrg/ShawangunkRunners]. Individual memberships are just $25 and a family (up to four) is just $40. And as part of our efforts to encourage youth running, students age 22 and under can become club members for just $10. Once you are in the system as a member, you will be able register yourself and your family members using the link below.
