Sheriff's Shuffle 5K Run Walk

In response to a recent increase in domestic violence incidents across the region, Sheriff Nick Cocchi is renewing his collaboration with the YWCA of Western Massachusetts to raise awareness, combat this alarming trend, and support victims.
 
In recent months, Western Massachusetts has witnessed several high-profile domestic violence cases, tragically resulting in loss of life. The upcoming 2024 Sheriff’s Shuffle race/walk is dedicated to benefiting the YWCA, with the goal of empowering and aiding victims of domestic violence, and intervening before situations escalate to deadly outcomes.
 
The Sheriff’s Shuffle has a longstanding tradition of uniting the community and local agencies committed to providing essential services to those in need. This year's event marks the beginning of a new initiative focused on addressing and reducing domestic violence in the region.
 
The event will feature a 5K run and a 1.5 mile walk, taking place on Sunday, September 29, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. at the Ashley Reservoir - Elks Lodge, located at 250 Whitney Ave., Holyoke. Registration on the day of the race begins at 9:00 a.m. inside the Elks Lodge. Both the run and the walk will commence with a brief ceremony at 10:30 a.m.  
 
This family-friendly fall event will include refreshments, food, awards, a raffle, interactions with service animals, and live entertainment. Overflow parking will be close by, with shuttle service available before and after the run/walk.
