The Step by Step Run race route begins at the intersection of Northwood Blvd. and Clawson in Royal Oak (48073). Races include a 5K run, 1.5 mile timed run and a 1.5 mile Fun run/walk hosted by the Royal Oak Shrine Schools and Parish community. Venue opens at 7:30am and race begins promptly at 8:30am. REGISTRATION FOR THE 5K AND 1.5 MILE TIMED EVENTS CLOSES AT 5:30PM FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 19TH. YOU CAN REGISTER FOR THE 1.5 MILE FUN RUN/WALK RIGHT UP UNTIL THE EVENT.

WHAT IS THE STEP BY STEP RUN?
The Step by Step Run promotes healthy living in the Royal Oak Shrine Schools and Parish Community. We encourage everyone in this community to participate by running, walking, volunteering, or simply cheering on participants!
CAN THE STEP BY STEP 5K RUN BE WALKED?
No, the 5K Run cannot be walked due to city restrictions, the 1.5 Mile Fun Run/Walk route is for walkers.
IS THE STEP BY STEP RUN A TIMED RACE?
The 5K Run and the 1.5 Mile Run will be timed events organized by Rotpac Racing. Timing bibs will be issued to all registrants of these timed events. The 1.5 Mile Fun Run/Walk will not be a timed event.
WHAT IS THE ROUTE OF EACH RACE?
The 5K route: Begins on Clawson north of the Northwood intersection, travels along Elmhurst, Webster, Clawson, Linwood, Woodland, Maplewood, Ferncliff, Bonnie View and Roseland, ending at Shrine Church.
The 1.5 Mile route: Shares the same route as the 5K but excludes the streets north of Webster.
WILL THERE BE AWARDS?
All kids participating in the 1.5 Mile Run will receive a finisher medal. 5K and 1.5 Mile runners that place in the top 3 in their age group will receive a medal.
WHERE WILL THE PROCEEDS FROM THE EVENT GO?
The race proceeds each year will be used for health and safety improvements at the Grade School, High School & Academy and Parish locations. Proceeds will be split evenly between these three locations.
