We're walking towards a future filled with hope, possibilities, and potentially curative therapies and more medication options for those living with sickle cell disease. Our mission is to provide with families with credible information, community, and, respect they deserve. With your support, we can get closer to eradicating sickle cell disease. Let's join forces at the largest awareness fundraiser and take one step closer to the finish line!

I attended this event and it was amazing. Funny thing about sickle cell is that it has a mind of it's own. I been hydrating and doing everything possible to prepare for this race. Two weeks before we were scheduled to attend this event, I was diagnosed with pneumonia after a pain crisis. Come the day of 09/21/24, I was in a full blown sickle cell crisis with both lungs partially collapsed and filled with fluid. I had taken all prescribed medications for pain and pneumonia and I was determined to finally achieve a long dream I've always had in my heart. I came, I tried to conquer, and unfortunately sickle cell won and I could not finish. I fought the entire but shortly becoming short winded and filling faint, my family and I decided it best I return home and rest. I'm barely starting to feel better and today is 10/12/24. I'm grateful to still be here and I thank God for this opportunity. Thank you to this organization that put this amazing event together. #sicklecell does not have me, I have SICKLE CELL and I am a warrior; 36 years strong! Hang in there everyone, we'll be okay.
