This fantastic event takes participants through a certified 5K course that winds through the charming streets of Surf City, beginning and ending at the Surf City Fire House. It’s a perfect day for both runners and walkers of all levels to enjoy the scenic views while supporting two worthy causes—the Simon J. Mariani Foundation, which provides educational scholarships and financial relief, and the Surf City Volunteer Fire Department, dedicated to serving the community year-round.
All participants will receive a race shirt if registered by April 1, 2027, along with a commemorative finisher medal! Exciting awards will be presented to the top three overall male and female finishers, as well as the top finishers in 10-year age groups. The Simons Surf City 5K Run/Walk will be held on Saturday, April 24, 2027 at 9AM. All proceeds from the event will equally benefit the Simon J. Mariani Foundation, Inc. (Foundation) and the Surf City Volunteer Fire Department & EMS Co #1 (Fire Department), both IRS Code Section 501(c)(3) not for-profit organizations.
The Foundation awards educational scholarships and hardship financial relief distributions to needy individuals. The Fire Department provides fire, water rescue, and EMS services year-round to residents of Surf City and the surrounding communities. They responded to approximately 1,000 total fire, water rescue and EMS occurrences annually.
A great flat course through the shore town streets of Surf City, NJ; a certified distance of 5K and route that starts and ends at the Surf City Fire House. ALL RUNNERS AND WALKERS ARE WELCOME!
Race shirts will be provided to all participants that register by 4/1/2027. All participants will receive a finisher medal!
