Mariani Foundation, which provides scholarships and assistance to those in need, and the Surf City Volunteer Fire Department & EMS Co #1, dedicated to serving the community. Each registered participant will receive a race shirt and a finisher medal, with awards for the top male and female finishers in various categories. The 2nd Annual Simons Surf City 5K Run/Walk will be held on Saturday, April 24, 2027 at 9AM; rain or shine. All net proceeds from the event equally benefit the Simon J. Mariani Foundation, Inc. (Foundation) and the Surf City Volunteer Fire Department & EMS Co #1 (Fire Department), both IRS Code Section 501(c)(3) not for-profit charitable tax-exempt organizations.
The Foundation (1) awards scholarships to graduating high school seniors, both men and women, who possess and demonstrate Simons Heart of a Champion; who are attending a college or university; the military or a vocational trade school; (2) recognizes graduating middle school students; (3) makes grants to individuals and/or families who have suffered an unforeseen hardship and (4) provides grants and assistance to other charitable IRS Code Section 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organizations and local municipality programs and activities. The Fire Department provides fire, water rescue, and EMS services year-round to residents of Surf City and the surrounding communities. A great flat course through the shore town streets of Surf City, NJ; a certified distance of 5K and a route that starts and ends at the Surf City Fire House, 713 Long Beach Boulevard, Surf City, NJ. ALL RUNNERS AND WALKERS ARE WELCOME!
Race shirts will be provided to all participants that register by 4/1/2027. All participants will also receive a finisher medal!
Awards will be given to the top 3 overall Male and Female finishers as well as the top 1 Male and Female finishers in 10 year age groups.
