This exciting 5K Fun Run/Walk is designed to support local at-risk youth, bringing together the community for a great cause. Since its inception in 2016, Sole Reason has generously provided over 9,500 pairs of new sneakers to children in need, and the demand continues to grow. Participants can choose to run or walk the 5K distance, or take part in a 1-mile option, making it a perfect event for everyone, whether you're a seasoned runner or looking for a family outing.
The day promises not only a chance to exercise but also to enjoy delightful activities, including meeting and taking photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus. Savor delicious donuts and hot chocolate provided by Poppin Minis while you enjoy the festive atmosphere. Don’t miss out on the chance to win exciting raffle prizes, including tickets to see the Pride of Topeka's very own John "The Iron Man" Cantrell in action. Organiser's Description
Join Sole Reason, Twin Dragon and Fleet Feet for the inaugural Sneakers for Santa 5K Fun Run/Walk to benefit local at risk Topeka Youth. Since 2016 Sole Reason has given away over 9500 pairs of NEW sneakers to area youth but the need continues to grow. We also have a used footwear program where you can donate used footwear beginning October 1st and all the way until the day of the event. Located at Fleet Feet on Wanamaker. We receive funds based on weight and use that to provide even more sneakers. Also going on the day of the event will be an opportunity to meet and take pictures with Santa and Mrs. Claus and eat donuts, and drink hot chocolate provided by Poppin Minis. We also will have raffle tickets and giveaways including tickets to see the Pride of Topeka John "The Iron Man" Cantrell's big fight. Whether you are a seasoned runner, just getting started, or want to bring the family out to support a great cause. we would love to have you out there. Don't forget to bring a used pair of shoes ( Oct. 9-dec.12) to Fleet Feet to get yourself a raffle ticket for a great prize. Also collecting used footwear the day of the event for other prizes.
