Join us for the vibrant "Spark in the Dark" event on July 3rd and 4th, 2025, in Vian, Sequoyah, as we kick off the July 4th celebrations with an unforgettable community gathering! This exciting pre-Independence Day festivity features exhilarating trail races with distances of 5k, 10k, and a half marathon, perfect for runners and walkers of all skill levels. Set against the picturesque backdrop of Armstrong Park, participants can enjoy delicious hot dogs, vegetarian options, and refreshing drinks in the comfort of the air-conditioned Vian Community Building after their event.
Starting on July 3rd at 6 PM with packet pickup and race day registration, the races will commence at 7 PM, followed by a midnight cutoff for all distances. While these courses are not certified for personal records, the focus is on fun, camaraderie, and challenging ourselves in the great outdoors. Don’t forget to wear your red, white, and blue attire and stick around to celebrate with fellow participants as we cheer on finishers into the night! Make sure to register early if you’d like a commemorative shirt, as the order deadline is June 16, 2025. Don’t miss

Put on your red, white, and blue and join our pre-July 4th party! Hang out with us at the Start/Finish at the Vian Community Building at Armstrong Park. We'll have hot dogs, vegetarian options, and drinks in an air-conditioned building after run/walk events. Stick around and swap stories while we cheer finishers into the night. We have trail 5k, 10k, and half marathon. You know how it rolls in the trail running world, these are not certified courses. If you're wanting to set a PR for your 5k, 10k, or Half time, this isn't the race for you. We're here to have fun, challenge ourselves, and fellowship.
