Sundown Rundown isnt just a race. Its a battle against the clock.
Trail Circuit Run: 1.6-ish miles to +35.7 miles. We run until it's done!
Sundown Rundown isnt just a raceits an ultra that forgot the slow part.
Course Design: 1.6 miles or 2.8km lap distances. Each course varies, but the distance is intentional to make pacing more challenging. This is a short-course backyard-style race with an elimination built into the start times.
SCORING
The winner is the last runner to complete a lap before that lap's cutoff and the cutoff gets faster every lap. You can choose to sit out the next lap to protect your position instead of risking the cutoff, but that choice is final; there's no re-entry. If nobody completes another lap, the win goes to whoever was ahead on the last lap more than one runner finished together. Full rules: fifthstreetcross.com/sundown-rundown

CLOSEDSundown Rundown is a last-runner-standing run. Its an evening focused on steady effort, shared rhythm, and seeing how far you can go as the sun goes down. Runners tackle a 1.6-ish mile trail loop and start each lap together. The first lap has a 20-minute cutoff. After that, the cutoff descends by 30 seconds per lap. All remaining runners start each lap together You must complete the full loop before the cutoff time Miss the cutoff, and your run for the night is complete Theres no set distance or finish time. Each lap is the opposite direction of the prior lap. The race is won by the last runner able to complete the lap they start. If the runner does not complete the last lap they start, we count back to the position on the prior lap. For example, if a runner A places second on lap 17 and runner B places 1st on lap 17 but runner A starts lap 18 but does not make the timecut, runner B would win.
