Sunrise Scramble

Fri 25th April 2025

A dirt trail winds through grassy, rocky terrain with green bushes and trees along the side. A blue lake is visible in the distance under a bright, clear sky with scattered clouds. Sunlight filters through leafy trees onto a sandy lakeshore, creating reflections on the calm blue water. An island with trees is visible across the water under a clear sky. A scenic landscape with green shrubs in the foreground, a dam and road in the middle, a blue lake behind the dam, and hills under a clear blue sky in the background. A small concrete dam structure stands in a grassy, hilly landscape with bushes and a winding path nearby. A large reservoir and gravel road stretch across the top of the image. View from a rocky hill overlooking a winding river, green fields, and a small industrial facility with two tall chimneys; forests and distant hills are visible under a clear blue sky. A large blue reservoir surrounded by rolling hills and trees under a clear blue sky, viewed from behind a chain-link fence with some greenery in the foreground. A rocky trail winds through a sunlit forest of pine trees, with patches of grass and shrubs scattered along the path under a clear blue sky.

Organiser's Description

This is an excellent event for those looking to test or fine tune their night running skills. First time running in the dark? First time using a headlamp to navigate? Trying to practice staying up all night for your next ultra? This race aims to prepare you for your longer races later in the season. The Sunrise Scramble is a fun, safe way to hit the trails in the twilight.

Our home base will be the Two Moons Campground and runners will head out on loops of varying distances (from 1-13 miles). Time your loops so that you finish all that you are aiming for before your time slot ends, or the sun officially pokes its head out, signaling the end of the full 10hr event. All entrants start at the same time, and on the ~1 mile loop. Entrants will then continue on the selection of the other loops of their own choice. There are 5 different loops of varying distance and difficulty. They all start and end at the Two Moon Campground.

Only those loops that have been completed by the time your time slot ends will count towards your finish mileage. Awards will be given for each "distance" that will be based on the most amount of miles that are completed in your allotted time.
