Join us at the Kelly's Ford Inn for cross country racing on this beautiful venue. The course is a 2Km loop that is about 50% close cut grass and 50% smooth farm road and horse trail. It is generally flat, with undulations around the start finish area. It parallels the Rappahannock River for 1/2 mile or so. The picture at the top of the page shows the start/finish area.

Women will race 3 laps for 6Km and men will race 4 laps for 8Km (like college cross country). There will be two competitions: Individual (age groups) and in teams by local area (counties and combinations of counties) and split by wide age groups. Runners declare which area they will represent (see the drop down list when registering). The male and female races will each be scored by standard cross country rules; top 5 score and top 7 displace, low score wins.

NOTE: DUE TO ENCROACHMENT OF THE MEN'S RACE, IF WOMEN DO NOT COMPLETE THE 6KM IN 55 MINUTES (ABOUT A 14:45 MINUTE MILE PACE), THEY MAY HAVE TO GET THEIR OWN TIME AND REPORT IT TO THE OFFICIAL TIMER. LIKEWISE, MEN MUST MAINTAIN ABOUT 11:04/MILE OR THEY MAY HAVE TO GET THEIR OWN TIME.
