Get ready for an exciting day of camaraderie and fitness at "The Cure Happens Here" Gaithersburg's 3rd Annual 5K, taking place on Wednesday, May 8, 2024. Set against the beautiful backdrop of the Gaithersburg campus in Montgomery, this vibrant event is exclusively for AstraZeneca employees. Participants can choose to run the full 5K or take a leisurely stroll in the 1-mile walk, making it a perfect opportunity for everyone to get involved, whether you’re a seasoned runner or just looking to enjoy a day out with colleagues.
Starting at 1:30 PM, the event will kick off with inspiring opening remarks from the Oncology Leadership and GBSHE Health and Wellbeing Leadership. Following the race, participants are invited to join in a happy hour from 3:00 to 5:00 PM, celebrating the incredible work being done to transform healthcare through science. Additionally, attendees are encouraged to support the CLL Society, this year’s selected non-profit partner dedicated to improving the lives of those affected by Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia. Let’s come together to make a difference, have fun, and enjoy a day filled with positivity and purpose!

As with previous years, we are thrilled to bring people together and celebrate the amazing work we do to transform the future of healthcare by unlocking the power of what science can do, for people, society and planet.
WE'RE ALSO ENCOURAGING EVERYONE TO CONSIDER MAKING A DONATION TO THIS YEAR'S SELECTED NON-PROFIT PARTNER - THE CLL SOCIETY. Dedicated to addressing the unmet needs of the Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL) community, the CLL society's goal is to provide real, recent and relevant information and to be the go to place for CLL patients and caregivers. CLOSEDOpening ceremony begins at 1:30 PM. Please arrive at the JBB surface parking lot no later than 1:45 PM to line up for run start. The course is 5 times around our Surface Parking Lot (adjacent to Garage B) and Building 200. Hydration stations and snacks will be provided for all participants. -
1-Mile Walk Option

CLOSEDOpening ceremony begins at 1:30 PM. Please arrive at the JBB surface parking lot no later than 2:10 PM to line up for walk start - walk start begins at 2:15 PM. The course is around our Surface Parking Lot (adjacent to Garage B) and Building 200. Walkers choose the length and time they wish to walk (1M = 2 times around). Hydration stations and snacks will be provided for all participants.
