This is a ride to help support the BIC Bike rodeo program. This is a program the was founded by the late great Bob Oppliger, who was BICs longtime and tireless bike advocacy and education director. This program is a clinic that teaches children bicycle safety and skills, and works with many local Iowa City schools. The program includes:
Proper helmet fitting and bike safety checks,
Learning hand signals and traffic rules, and
Fun riding challenges to practice starting, stopping, and maneuvering.
We also provide helmets to those in need. We are looking to provide for the expenses of this program.
