The Freedom 50 Ultramarathon is an annual 50-mile race held on the Saturday of Memorial Day Weekend, with its inaugural event scheduled for May 24, 2025. The race starts and finishes at Diamond Detail in downtown Puyallup, Washington.
Participants will traverse the scenic Foothills Trail from Puyallup to the Veterans Monument in Buckley Memorial Park, which serves as the halfway point and location of a fully stocked aid station. The first half of the course features a slight ascent, while the return journey offers a gentle, almost unnoticeable decline, allowing runners to finish strong back in Puyallup. The entire course is paved, making it ideal for road shoes, and presents minimal elevation changes aside from minor variations near Buckley.
