Organiser's Description
Have you ever been told that you run funny? This is the race for you! Join your favorite CSz Richmond players in the funniest 5K fundraiser you've ever run. All proceeds go towards our nonprofit comedy theater, which has helped Richmond-area families laugh for more than 25 years.
The day will start with a one-mile (approximately) kids run around the lake. Then the regular race starts. 5K for glory. And when we say "glory" we mean "working up a good appetite for brunch." Fastest folks in the front, slowest folks in the back. Hey, you can't ALL stand in the back! The race is not officially timed, so there's no pressure to run fast. If you want to run fast, knock yourself out. We won't judge.
Need a joke to help you keep running? Your favorite CSz improv performers will be along the course to make sure you don't get lost but DO get a laugh. Run, walk, skip, or sashay. This is the run with no judgement, whatsoever. Families, pets, and costumes encouraged.
Kids signing up for the 1 Mile run are welcome to join their parents/guardians in the 5K for free.

Q: DO I HAVE TO RUN?
A: No! Lots of participants will be walking. Some may be dancing. One unfortunate bozo will probably try to pogo stick.
Q: CAN I BRING MY PET?
A: Yes! Well-behaved dogs and goldfish are welcome on the course. Cats will probably just mock you.
Q: CAN I RUN WITH A STROLLER?
A: Of course. Or a shopping cart filled with Doritos. We won't judge.
Q: IS THIS RACE OFFICIALLY TIMED?
A: No, but unofficially you can wear a watch.
Q: IF MY KID WANTS TO RUN BOTH THE 5K AND THE 1 MILE RUN, DO THEY HAVE TO SIGN UP FOR BOTH?
A: Nope, the 1 Mile Run includes free admission to the 5K Funny Run.
Q: HOW WAS THE 5K COURSE MEASURED?
A: We used advanced AI terrain mapping to pinpoint the distance to the nearest 0.5 millimeter, taking into account changes in altitude and the curvature of the earth. Just kidding. We're actually just running the same route as the regular Parkrun.
Q: WILL YOU BE PUBLISHING RESULTS AFTER THE RACE?
A: No, this is a fun run. You know how you did.

CLOSEDIt's an untimed and haphazardly-measured one mile scamper around the lake for funny kids. Run, walk, skip, or dance. Note: Organizers do not guarantee that participation will lead to your kid becoming funnier. We have summer camps for that. Kids registered for the 1 mile run can also join their parent or guardian in the 5K Funny Run for free. -

The course is delightfully flat for the first half, then lurches over some unexpected hills in the middle that will have you questioning your life choices.
