Check-in begins at 6:30 am, with buses departing from Kingsland Point Park in Sleepy Hollow at 7:45 am to transport swimmers to the starting point in Nyack. The swim kicks off at 9:00 am, and participants are reminded to bring proof of their open water swimming experience, ensuring a safe and enjoyable race for all. As a highlight, swimmers will be supporting Feeding Westchester and other local charities through their participation, making this event both fulfilling and fun. Organiser's Description
This is a beautiful and challenging three-mile swim across the majestic Hudson River from Nyack, NY to the historic village of Sleepy Hollow, NY.
Our goal is to give swimmers the opportunity to enjoy the panoramic views as they swim across the scenic Hudson River while supporting Feeding Westchester and other local charities.
Check-In is 6:30 am. Buses will be leaving from Kingsland Point Park in Sleepy Hollow, NY at 7:45 am sharp to transport swimmers to the municipal boat launch next to Memorial Park in Nyack, NY for the start of the swim. Swimmers begin swimming at 9:00am. All swimmers must have proof of open water experience or must have a life guard or swim coach sign off on their ability. This proof can be uploaded at time of registration or sent to the lighthouseswim@gmail.com by August 5th at the latest. Proof can consist of results from a prior swim event or triathlon. If this is not available a swim coach or lifeguard can sign off on the swimmer's capability to swim across the Hudson River. All swimmers will be required to wear a safety buoy which will be supplied at the event. The swim must completed in three hours.
